One year after establishing the partnership to create a center of excellence in cardiovascular imaging area, the Hospital Sirio-Libanes (Syrian-Lebanese Hospital) and Siemens Hospital took the same initiative for the oncology area. On Friday (14) launched the “International Reference Center for Oncological Image”, which will work within the framework of the Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) of the Hospital.
The goal is to share technology and cutting-edge knowledge, based on professional training, development of new tests and diagnostic protocols and developing new techniques.
The new center accredits Hospital as an international reference for training in imaging methods also in oncology, in education and research. Moreover, Syrian-Lebanese Hospital professionals will have direct access to the new technologies under development at Siemens plant in Germany and will be responsible for testing and for generating protocols of these new tools in Brazil. The Hospital will manage also research projects resulting from this partnership.
They want to offer physicians from Brazil and other countries with a comprehensive training program in imaging tests in both areas. In addition, this new step will be very important to move forward in their research in cardio-oncology field, where professionals have been working jointly for the development of new research and treatment protocols, according to a statement the Director of Research the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital, Luiz Fernando Lima Reis.
